As a tribute to Valentine’s Day, the pugs would like to recap some of the things that they love.
Benjamin, of course, loves food. Here are some of Benjamin’s finer moments with food. There’s Benny waiting for pumpkin bread. Benny trying to walk off with Luna’s birthday cake and even Benjamin sleeping with his bone. That’s a true pug for you! A pug that loves food!

Then there’s Henry. He isn’t quite as shallow as Baby Benny. Henry loves simple things. Henry is more like a Jimmy Buffet kind of dog. He loves relaxing in the pool in his pug tug and also going to the beach.

Luna, the diva of the trio, has definitely learned to love the finer things in life. Being the girly girl she is, she loves her fashion! Luna also has a multiple love of birthday parties. There’s cake and couture! What else could a lady need?

Needless to say, though, they also love each other!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! May you and yours feel the love all day everyday!

We just wanted to share some other photos from Christmas morning of the boys & Luna with their new goodies. Stay tuned for when Benjamin really got serious and was ready to settle….

On Christmas, we would put down a few presents on the floor and allow the dogs to tear into them. Well, we thought the first they would go for would be the peanut butter rawhide candy cane or the bully sticks but the first thing the boys went for was the package of ping pong balls that we got in an attempt to teach the boys and Luna to fetch. In the past, the only interest any of them has displayed in fetching has been with ping pong balls but they always seem to crunch it up too much to get much play out of them. So we decided to give them a 12 pack for Christmas. Low & behold, that is what Benjamin went for first and then Henry was soon to follow. Here the boys are taking turns opening the package.

Later in the day when they became more interested in too many other things, like Benjamin opening Cupid’s treats, we decided to give them a butcher bone that Santa had left in their stocking.

Christmas was a great day for people & pugs alike.

Well, Santa made a stop by our home this week. He came and spoiled all the critters here. The Boys and Cupid have a couple of Christmas day experiences under their belt, but this is Luna’s first Christmas in her forever home. She was quite overwhelmed to say the least. At first she just pranced around waiting for “something” to happen. She would go from lap to lap and room to room in her girly curiosity to try to find out what all the excitement was about.
As we all took turns opening gifts, many of which were for the dogs, we finally stumbled upon Luna’s favorite toy of Christmas day. It was brought from Maryland by G’Ma and G’Pa (Luna’s Northern grandparents). It was a Christmas tree ornament dog toy with little nubbies that are just the right size for Luna’s petite mouth. She nibbled on it and tossed it in the air. As it made noises she would back off and then she would pounce on it again chewing the little nubs.

Oddly, after she tired from all the commotion, she settled on a small plastic trash bag that we were using for used wrapping paper and she promptly napped for a while after that. She’s an unusual one that little Luna.

Stay posted for more Christmas blogging about the rest of the clan. We hope you and your family had a safe and happy holiday.

In all of the after Halloween rush of the Pugfest in Atlanta, announcing the Costume Contest winners and selling the 2007 Owned By Pugs Calendars, I almost forgot to blog about the Halloween fiasco that occured. In the photo you can see what we refer to as “the girl.” It is a little statue in the background behind Benjamin in the photo. Well, after we made our rounds through the neighborhood with the pugs in their 3 little pigs costumes, we came home to answer the door for trick or treaters. At first we didn’t have too many and we didn’t really need to man the door. Unfortunately, “someone” got careless and left the bowl of goodies on “the girl’s” tray. Of course, Benjamin the curious little pug, got to sniffin’ and smellin’ and tried to get to the goodies. He ended up pulling the girl over and her arm broke off and pieces of ceramic and Skittles went everywhere. Fortunately, no one was hurt but “the girl” is beyond repair.

Amusing side note to this story. “The girl” was a Christmas gift this past year. Henry was sleeping when she was opened and assembled. When Henry woke up, he was shocked to find the lady in his home and barked at her confused by her short stature and bewildered as to how she snuck into the house. It was quite a riot.

It has been quite a year here at Owned By Pugs. We rescued a little girl pug, re-designed the OBP website and even opened H.Doodle.com (A Little Shop for Little Dogs). So, there is a lot to be thankful for this year. We thought we would give the kids a chance to tell everyone what they are thankful for.

Hi! It’s Baby Benny, I want to tell everyone that like every other year I’ve been alive, I am thankful for my puffy. My puffy is my little security disk. I take it to bed every night and sometimes I even carry it around with me in the daytime, too. There are times when company will come over and I will shove it in their face. (I like to show it off.) But they think that means I am giving it to them. NO! It’s my puffy! I am just showing it to them. If they want a puffy, they can get their own. My puffy is very precious to me.

I am also thankful for my pile of pillows. I have a pile of pillows in the bedroom, the living room, the flex room and the guest bedroom. My family keeps a lot of pillows around and I am the pillow king of this house! Love my pillows! Yeah, yeah! So thankful!

I am of course, also quite thankful for food. I love my breakfast, lunch & dinner. But I especially love treats…like pumpkin bread, my morning bite of banana, stealing Cheerios, apple cinnamon softies from Doggie Dayz and any frozen treat from Ritter’s.

Hello. Henry here. I like to keep it simple. Ever since we moved here to Florida there have been a couple really important things that I am especially thankful for: the beautiful fenced in yard with grass to roll around in, the warm sunshine to warm me and the chilly swimming pool to cool me when the sun gets to be just a little too much. I love to be outside and soaking in the warm Florida weather. Yes, it is a pugs life for me! Very appreciative, I am!

Hey! It’s little Luna! Talk about thankful! I am the Cinderella story of this household! I went from pug rags to pug riches when I got this gig. There is so much for me to be thankful for. As most of you know, I wasn’t very well taken care of early in my life. I came here and I got a fun family that loves me, takes care of my medical needs (eye drops every day, eye surgery, seeing a dermatologist, the works!) I didn’t have that before and now I feel great (even if I don’t look that much better—-I am definitely healthier!) I sure do appreciate it! I am also so thankful to have 2 brothers that look out for me and having them to cuddle with is just a super feeling! I am also appreciative to the nice lady at compassionate pug rescue that found me this great home.

Hi. It’s me, Cupey cat. I know that this blog is “for the dogs” but it is Thanksgiving and I would like to express my gratitude, as well. I love my wicker box (even though sometimes I have to share it) and my carpeted perch (which I don’t have to share) but what I am most thankful for here at the new house in Florida is the terrific screened in porch where I can watch the squirrels and the geckos and they can’t get me and the great grassy lawn that is fenced in for my protection. I like to go outside and chew on a blade or 2 of grass, chase the bugs and roll on the lawn on a sunny day. I am just as spoiled as the rest of the critters around here but I am not too proud to say thanks! I am quite appreciative even if I don’t show it that often. I really am!

The humans here at OBP have a lot to be thankful for, too. We have terrific family & friends and of course the pets (which are really a big part of the family but the humans might get a little irritated if we didn’t give them top billing) but we are appreciative to you all in the pug community for giving us support through the adoption of our newest pug, Luna and with the the roller coaster of medical issues we have had with her these last few months. We appreciate you and your dedication and support to the cause of all good to all pugs. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Happy Halloween Everyone! This year the pugs are the 3 Little Pigs for Halloween. Henry piggy, the smart one has bricks added to his pig costume. Luna pig, next in line with brains has sticks added to her costume and poor Benjamin is the piggy that made his house of straw. We look forward to walking around the neighborhood early this evening and then opening the door for trick or treaters! Enjoy your holiday festivities!
