Secret QP

Henry

Last weekend, Henry even wanted to get out and get some of his holiday shopping done. We made a trip to Petsmart so that he could pick out something nice for Cupid. After careful consideration, he decided to get Cupid a pack of mice (the kind that Benny loved to eat), some cat grass (something else that Benny liked to eat) and a few cans of special cat food (something that Henry himself would like to eat). Pretty thoughtful gifts if you ask me!

Decorating

Henry

Christmas is really sneaking up on us this year. Luckily, Henry was feeling better this weekend and could supervise the tree trimming. For the most part, he kept us on track. Although, after a bit of work, he did insist on taking a snack break!

Gobble Gobble

Henry

Henry's first Thanksgiving went very well! Henry has been to Grammy's house many times, but this was the first time he was there during the hustle and bustle of a holiday. The house was packed and there was lots of activity in the kitchen. And wouldn't you know that is exactly where you would find Henry.

Henry quickly figure out that the kitchen was where all the action was and that's where he needed to be. He did a good job of not being too much in the way, but being enough in the way so that everyone knew he was there. Just incase anything needed taste testing or anything like that.

During dinner, Henry parked himself right by the table. He made his way around the table a few times to see if anyone had anything they wanted to share with him.

After dinner, Henry thought about watching some football, but couldn't quite settle since there was so much going on. He hung out in the kitchen while the big cleanup was happening.

With all the new experiences and all the people to talk to and get pettings from Henry did not sleep all day. He was up for a good 6-7 hours straight and for a 12.5 year old pug that's no small feat!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Henry

Happy Thanksgiving!

It hasn't been our best year, but we are very thankful that we get to celebrate this Thanksgiving with Henry and at Grammy's house nonetheless. I'll let you know how Henry does at his very first Thanksgiving. I've already heard rumors that some turkey is going to be reserved just for him!

Countdown

Henry

It's hard to believe, but Thanksgiving is just one week away! This year, Henry received an invitation to come to Thanksgiving dinner from Grammy. In previous years, the pugs have stayed at home while the humans went to Grammy's and hung out with the family. But Grammy knows how Henry has been having some separation anxiety and how Henry, by himself, is a really good boy. So, she gave him the green light to come on over for Thanksgiving dinner.

We are super excited to be able to bring Henry to Thanksgiving. Now, he just needs to live up to that good boy part wink

Trick or Treat Success

Henry

On Halloween, Henry proved once again just how #HenryStrong he really is. He was quite spunky when we got home from work and was ready to walk. So, we suited him up in his costume and set off on our normal trick or treat route. Even though Henry was full of energy, we brought the stroller with us in case our little pirate hit some rough seas.

We ended up using the stroller for small bits of the walk, but for the most part Henry walked the whole route himself. He was so proud to visit his neighborhood friends and to get some treats.

Happy Halloween

Arr, Matey! It's Henry the Pirate Pug!

After Henry had his eye removed in April, we knew exactly what the pugs were going to be for Halloween. How could they not be pirates?

Liking to get a jump on things, we ordered pirate costumes for Henry, Benjamin and Luna and they were delivered before the end of April. Little did we know, that Benjamin and Luna would not be here to be part of Henry's pirate crew.

It's a bittersweet day, but we know that if they were here Benny and Luna would insist on hitting the high seas and bringing back all the treasure they could find. We're not sure how much trick or treating Henry will be up for this year, so we are going to play the night by ear. This might be the year Henry is the official candy giver outer.

And as a extra Halloween bonus, here is a look back at the pug's Halloween costumes over the years.

Have a safe and happy Halloween!
