Benjamin experienced a first a few weeks ago. He found a cat that actually likes him.
It is no secret that Benjamin is the lowest pug on Cupid's totem pole. And every other cat he has come across has promptly greeted him with a bap on the head.
So when Simba, a cat that lives in our neighborhood that is allowed to go outside, and Benny crossed paths, Benny was bracing himself for the worst, but was presently surprised when Simba rubbed up against him and promptly flopped on his back. (Yup, that is Benny in the pink collar below. He was borrowing it from his sister that day).
And ever since their first meeting, Simba generally comes over to see the pugs when they go out for their evening walk. We will be walking along and he will come darting over to say hi to the pugs. After a minute or two of prancing around the pugs he is off for other adventures.

Since the weather was so nice this weekend the pugs got to go on lots of errands with us. They love to run errands, especially ones that involve picking up lunch

We went to the dog beach last Friday and the pugs were super excited to be at the beach again. Fall is perfect beach weather for the pugs and as soon as their paws hit the sand they were off to the races. Luna was particularly excited and ran a few extra laps.
With the better weather, we have been walking more and able to take the pugs for more car rides. They are very excited to be out and about again.

The weather here has been gorgeous, so we thought we would take the pugs and G-Ma to the beach. I tried to get a shot of the pugs with the lighthouse in the background. As you can see, some pugs were more cooperative than others.

Friday afternoon, just as I was getting off work, I heard the pugs barking like crazy. I could tell by the urgency in their barks that they weren't just saying hello to one of the normal walkers or joggers that are frequently out at that time of the night. So, I walked from my office to the living room to check things out. Much to my surprise, the pugs were barking at a deer. I have never seen a deer anywhere near the house, so I was very surprised to see one right across the street, just hanging out.
Since barking at a deer was new territory for the pugs, Benjamin took to high ground, the couch, and barked from there. Luna took the main window and Henry's post was the sidelight.
The deer hung around for about 20 minutes before it darted back into the woods. The pugs were berserk for about the first five minutes, but after that they quieted down and just watched with amazement.

I took a little trip last week and when I arrived back at the airport I was greeted with these three cuties. It sure beats those people that stand there with the signs with your name on it.

We try to get the pugs out for a walk each night in the summer, but sometimes it is so hot that we don't make it past the front yard. Instead, we just hang out around the house so we don't have too far to go to get back in the AC.
But, on nights when we can actually get a little walk in, the pugs are giddy with excitement. They love their walkies.
