More proof that Benny is obsessed with the cat. When have you ever known Benny to not be sleeping on a pile of pillows?
Sorry for the grainy picture. I shot this from across the room in low light. I knew as soon as I got up, Benny would stir so as not to be caught sleeping with the cat

I'm pretty sure Benny only lays in this bed because Cupid, the cat, lays there from time to time. I'm not sure what his motives are but he always wants to do what the cat is doing. Does he play with her favorite toys and sleep in her bed because he wants to be cool like her? Or does he do those things so Cupid can't have them?
I don't even pretend to know what goes on in Benny's head. All I know is the cat plays it uber cool and pretends like none of it bothers her and that Benny doesn't even exist for that matter. But, have Cupid go near one of Benny's bones and Benny will have an instant melt down. Indifference is not one of Cupid's traits that Benny has mastered yet.

I got to work from home one day last week and it was just like old times here in the OBP household. It took the pugs a little while to figure out that I wasn't leaving for the day, but once I settled down in my office, they soon joined me. All and all, it was a very productive day for me. I forgot how much the sounds of pugs snoring keeps me focused and on task

That's what happens to little puggies that pee through the screen. Take note, Baby Benny. Take note.
Enjoy the weekend!

I love to watch Baby Benny gallop!
Despite Benny looking spry and chipper in this photo, I don't think his thyroid meds have started to kick in. We haven't really noticed much difference in his energy level yet. It probably is too early for his "energy" pills to be effective, but I am very anxious for them to get into Benny's system and work their magic.

Benny & Henry posing by the mums. Perhaps this is their belated Mother's day gift for me?
I always thought mums were fall flowers, but we planted these a few years ago and they bloom every spring and fall. I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to flowers so it was a pleasant surprise for me.

Last week the pugs made a trek to the vet. Each was visiting for various reasons (more on that later). Benny was in to have blood work done. We got the results a few days later and everything looked normal except his thyroid is a little low. When I got the news, I thought this explains a lot.
Benny has slowed down a lot lately. Granted he is 10 now, but compared to Henry he is a complete couch potato. He also seems to have picked up a pound to two (or maybe three) and his feeding routine has not changed at all.
I chalked it up to him getting older, but his thyroid could certainly play a part in all of this. Don't get me wrong, his age probably plays the biggest factor in his recent energy level and unexpected weight gain, but getting his thyroid back to normal levels will certainly help.
Benny boy heads back to the vet in about 6 weeks for another blood test to see if the dosage for his meds is correct and to see if his thyroid function has improved to normal levels with the help of his medicine.
