Last Monday, in the midst of Luna's bladder woes, the boys' had their own appointments at the vet for their annual exams.
Both received good reports and received their latest rounds of shots.
Benny has had a very itchy face lately and a quick swab of his wrinkles and a peek under a microscope revealed that Benny has a nice little yeast infection in his wrinkles. So, we are being much more diligent about cleaning his wrinkles. We are using Malaceb wipes and also cleaning his wrinkles with a solution of water and white vinegar (50/50). So far, the frequent cleanings seem to be helping Benny. It sure isn't easy being that cute!
Henry had a blood panel run since he hadn't had blood work done since 2008. Go Hank! He has definitely been the healthiest of the bunch. We got his results and his BUN levels were slightly elevated. However, in 2008 his BUN levels were also high. The latest bloodwork had his BUN just a few points higher. The vet is not overly concerned, but we will have Henry's bloodwork done again in about 6 months just to check on things again and make sure there is not a bigger issue.
Other than that the boys are doing well. This visit was their official 10 year old checkups.

Benjamin, Henry & Luna are gearing up for football this weekend. In addition to putting their favorite game time snacks on the grocery list, Benny also got his favorite Redskins blanket out of storage.
With two teams to root for each week (Ravens & Redskins), the pugs are guaranteed to get plenty of quality sofa time. Which is why I think they love football season so much.

There must be something very interesting going on in the kitchen.
The pugs and Cupid like to relax on the soft and warm carpet while they keep a close eye on what's going on in the kitchen. Even though Cupid looks like she isn't paying attention, don't let her fool you, pop open a can a cat food and she'll be on her feet in less than a second. As for the pugs, just crinkle a bag and you will suddenly have 3 pugs at your feet.

The kids went back to school last week here in FL. All the hype about a new school year starting got me thinking about school photos. So, I thought, why not take some back to school photos of the pugs.
While Benny hasn't been to school since he was about a year old (dog training classes), he was more than happy to pose for a school photo.

I think someone has a case of the Mondays.
It's so tough for Benny to drag himself out of bed when he has such a big day ahead. He has to wake up before sunrise, go outside and go potty and beg for some of the humans' breakfast all before he gets to take his first nap on the couch.
Then after he naps for a few hours he has to wake up, go potty again, visit with Grammy and get some lunch before he gets to take another nap.
Then Benny gets a few more hours of rest before the humans come home. Once they get home he needs to supervise dinner preparation and eating and can you believe they will make him go potty again.
What a day!

The pugs could indeed "hold it" until after the storms passed. However, Benny and Luna still weren't happy to get their paws wet. And Henry, he was grumpy because there was no sun. Geez, pugs, be glad you didn't have to go potty in the rain!
