Being a football fan, I always enjoy Super Bowl Sunday. A few years back, I happened to stumble upon the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. After watching a few minutes of the “game” I was hooked and I have made sure to record it every year since.
This year is Puppy Bowl V and it looks to be as exciting as ever. Check out the Puppy Bowl V site to see this year’s starting lineup. Kickoff time is set for February 1, 2009 at 3pm e/p on Animal Planet.

I noted that among the lineup playing in Puppy Bowl V is an adorable pug puppy named Xavier. I’m thinking just maybe Xavier can win the “Most Valuable Player” award…drive away in that new Buick…
I adore the Puppy Bowl! I am not much of a football fan, so the “other” bowl came does not interst me. I think we should ask the Animal Planet to do a PUG Bowl!
Thank goodness for multiple TV’s! At my super bowl party, the guys watch the big men slamming into each other for that goofy brown ball, and the ladies and Pugs watch the puppy bowl - Go Team!
Oops! That pug puppy’s name is “Xander”, not “Xavier”! Those x names always get me confused. I am anxiously waiting for “stats” on each player to be posted…go Xander!
And I thought I was the only PUPPY BOWL FAN around here. Glad there are lots of us. They are the cutest guys playing their little hearts out, puddling around in the water bowls, sniffing each other, lying on the floor napping, just plain doing everything but playing puppy football.!!! My kind of Puppies.
