Does your pug watch TV?

MSNBC reports that a survey conducted by the American Kennel Club and Iams Co. has found that 50% of all dogs included in their survey show interest in the television.

I have caught Benjamin & Henry gazing at the TV on a couple of occasions and if I am watching a show like the Dog Whisperer or Animal Cops Benjamin goes nuts. He barks at the TV and runs up to it to try and smell the other dogs on the screen. Henry and Luna don’t get that involved, but if a doorbell rings on TV all three of them bolt to the front door to see who is there.

We have a pug named Peachie.. who watches commericials and TV shows with animals in them…She gets all worked up and barks at the tv screen… The wierd thing is.. she can be sound asleep and when a commercial starts to come on.. she knows ahead of time that is is an animal commericial.. even before the animal comes on the screen.. she knows its coming..She remembers the commericials music. she has them memorized?

I have two pugs.  They both watch TV.  My male black pug barks and barks when the theme song for Arthur on PBS comes on.  My female fawn pug goes crazy and runs and bites at the TV with any animal or people who are fighting.  She also doesn’t like the Progressive commercials with the dark haired lady.  Must be a pug thing.
